Emerald Scientific will host its first Emerald Classic Charity Golf Tournament on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. The inaugural event will take place during the 5th Annual Emerald Conference at Coronado Golf Course in San Diego and will benefit the Veterans Cannabis Project (VCP), a nonprofit dedicated to improving U.S. military veterans’ quality of life through the opportunity of cannabis.
The Emerald Conference, the longest running, most technical scientific conference in the cannabis industry, brings together the best and brightest thought leaders in the industry to facilitate collaboration and education among scientists, professionals, and entrepreneurs. This year’s keynote speaker will be Todd Scattini, VCP board member and CEO of Harvest 360.
“There are 23 million U.S. military veterans living in the U.S. today. Many are dealing with chronic and debilitating conditions, eager for safer alternative medicine that can lead to a better quality of life,” said VCP Founder Nick Etten. “VCP advocates on their behalf for unrestricted and supported access to medical cannabis, empowering them to live healthy, fulfilling lives.”
“The Veterans Cannabis Project is dedicated to educating lawmakers and veterans about the meaningful benefits of cannabis. They are the perfect beneficiary for our first charity golf tournament,” said Ken Snoke, President and Co-Founder of Emerald Scientific.
The Emerald Classic Charity Golf Tournament will consist of 17 teams of 4 for a total of 68 players. Registration is open through January 30, 2019 and includes shotgun-start golf format, green fee, golf clubs, golf cart and range balls, South of the Border lunch buffet, and three drink tickets. There will also be a variety of competitions and raffles throughout the day including a “Million Dollar Shot,” prizes for holes-in-one, putting contests, and longest drive.
